Works closely with business partners to identify system needs/opportunities, presents potential solutions, and provides cost and time line estimates.
Ensures systems developed are in compliance with AIG/ Division standards and guidelines
Manages multiple projects/project managers concurrently and provides technical oversight for all systems-related activity.
Participates in setting strategic direction and implements solutions that align with business objectives and IT modernization principles
Reviews and evaluates staff performance and prepares periodic performance appraisal
Management responsibility for employees and contractors, which includes the following tasks: Sets goals, assigns and directs staff activities
Manage vendor relationships for quality delivery and setting program and relationship objectives
Reviews and evaluates staff performance and prepares periodic performance appraisals. Guides and coaches staff to maximize performance and contributes to salary planning process
What we are looking for
Bachelor s Degree in Information Technology or related field preferred.
12+ years application development experience, including 5 years of experience managing projects and staff.
Prior IT experience working in the Pension Risk Transfer / Pension Buyout / Terminal Funding business required
Other institutional markets businesses a plus, including Structured Settlements, Company/Bank Owned Life Insurance, and/or Stable Value Wraps
Project delivery experience in the insurance and/or financial services sector desired
Previous experience managing both in-house and remote vendor development teams.
Strong communication skills and ability to effectively work with team as well as senior stakeholders
Able to work with teams in multiple locations
Technical management background with proven ability to provide cost-effective technical solutions to meet business needs.
Previous role with financial accountability for large projects / area managing the operating budget
Past experience evaluating new technologies and integrating solutions into new and legacy environments
Proven ability to partner across multiple technical and non-technical areas
Use of agile or iterative development methodologies. Be able to champion a cultural shift and coach team members.
Occasional, quarterly travel to work with business partners and extended IT team members
Approach undefined and unknown projects with a resourceful, Can Do attitude
Collaboratively work with peers to accomplish organizational and project goals
